LISTEN TO OUR LATEST WORKPodcasters, sound quality matters. It’s kind of like a business that has paint peeling off the building, burned out lightbulbs in the sign outside, and weeds in the cracks in the parking lot pavement. That’s probably a business you’d avoid. Your podcast works the same way. Potential listeners may just move on to a more appealing listening experience. Let me help improve how your podcast sounds.
I’m available on an hourly basis to consult remotely on your recording setup at your location. We’ll discuss your gear, including mic placement, and technique specific to your setup. We’ll talk about your recording space and ways to mitigate it’s deficiencies, and more. We’ll record samples of your audio over Zencastr which I will load into my DAW so I can see and hear what’s going on with your recording, and I’ll make recommendations on improving sound quality based on that. We’ll repeat this process until we’ve optimized your sound, with the goal of achieving clean, natural sounding recordings. The things we discuss will also apply to your guests, and you will be better equipped to advise them on gear placement and use when you record your next interview.
I’m Kevin A. Kline, and I’ve been the Audio Engineer on over 150 podcast episodes over the past 4 years, some of which have won Davey, W3, Vega, and Signal Awards. Before that I worked in commercial radio in a top-ten media market where I recorded rock stars, pro athletes, celebrities, business leaders, and regular people for our clients’ commercials and other station elements. I’ll share the same best practices that I used then, and which I use now to capture the best possible sounding podcast recordings.

podHiFi is a micro business owned and operated by experienced Podcast Audio Engineer Kevin A. Kline. I am your outsourced podcast audio production department, supporting individuals and businesses large and small. You get the benefit of my studio space, gear, software, and experience, all without having to buy, update, and maintain those things, and without having to spend time editing, mixing, and mastering podcast episodes.
podHiFi does one thing: help people and businesses make great sounding podcast episodes. Clients bring me onto their team to handle all aspects of audio production for their podcast episodes. I do everything from gear setup and troubleshooting, to editing, noise reduction and audio repair, sound design, mixing, and mastering. I work with your hosts, guests, producers, composers, and writers to fulfill the creative vision behind your podcast episodes.
I also seamlessly integrate into your podcast audio production process wherever professional audio assistance is needed. If you only need a steady hand to engineer a remote recording, I can do that. If you only need editing done because you pass the edited files on to another audio engineer, I can do that. If you only need noise reduction or audio repair, I can do that. And if you need mixing and mastering, I can do that. I have the flexibility of an individual, and the equipment and experience of a larger organization.
I just listened to the master, and smiled the entire time. Even though I’ve been through the transcript and the script and the audio a thousand times, it kept my interest; the music was perfect throughout; and the sound quality sounds to me like anything you’d get from a big distributor. I can’t thank you enough for such fantastic work! – Elaine Appleton Grant, Host, Sound Judgment podcast
You have been a huge part of this effort, appropriately patient with tech challenged guests and meticulous with their audio as well. – Robert Pease, Fluent Knowledge
Personally & professionally, I have never worked with a better person or finer audio technician. His quality is flawless. His intuition and technique are perfect. – Kevin Redding, Owner, 104.9 Barefoot Radio Key West
